Iran’s Green Movement: The Voices of Dissent
About the Project
I produced this video as part of the interactive feature presentation, Crisis Guide: Iran, for the Council on Foreign Relations. The video focuses on Iran’s Green Movement that grew out of public anger and outrage in response to suspected voter fraud in the 2009 Iranian elections.
The video brings together expert interviews, award winning images, and local Iranian protest music to paint a picture of the opposition later suppressed by the the Ahmadinejad regime with brutal crackdowns on demonstrators. The Green Movement has yet to recover and continues to regroup.
The full Crisis Guide: Iran traces Iran’s history, ambitions as a regional power, and its controversial nuclear program. It is available at: www.cfr.org/iranguide
